Follow the Red Arrow this October as it changes course across the Atlantic for its inauguration in North America. The Mille Miglia North American Tribute (MMNAT) will provide a fresh challenge to the legendary open-road driving experience. Drivers will embark from Santa Barbara on October 26th, where the 1000-mile trip will take participants on a three-day voyage through the historic cities of Monterey, Napa Valley, and San Francisco. The final leg of the endurance expedition will bring the weathered drivers back to Santa Barbara on the evening of October 28th in time to prepare for the 25th annual Santa Barbara Concours d'Elegance.

Setting this adventure apart from other Mille events are the high standards put in place to maintain the tradition of the original Italian driving event — a Sealing Ceremony and a mapped route taking participants through historic back roads. The driving experience, complete with exquisite VIP events, hospitality, unique sponsorship opportunities, and other memorable engagements, will leave a lasting impression for all involved. In addition to the MMNAT route, which is only open to vehicles manufactured between 1927 and 1957, there will be a special ENCORE route (following the tracks of the MMNAT drivers) open for post 1957 made vehicles.

The Mille Miglia has come a long way since its inception in 1927. Thanks to the drivers' passion for triumph and unyielding public support, the "world’s greatest road race" will continue its metamorphosis into a true global tradition. The MMNAT, expected to receive over 1,500 applications, will only accept 300 vehicles, nationally and internationally manufactured from 1927 - 1957, meeting the elite standards set by MMNAT.

The inaugural showing of the Perugia International Film Festival will occur on March 22-25, 2012. In addition to showcasing films, the festival will focus on the art and science of film making. The University of Perugia film school will be actively involved in preparations for the event which will insure that students are an integral part of the festival.

Perugia's film festival will celebrate not only cinema but 'la bella vita,' as personified by Perugia, its people, lifestyle, and the wonders of the region, utilizing the most prestigious and magnificent state owned buildings and palaces in the town.

The wide cultural synergy among Perugia's institutions, universities and international companies makes this an event of profound meaning for Perugia, and will focus world attention on the city as a center for arts, innovation and dialogue among cultures.

Returning to the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, October 30th, the 25th Santa Barbara Concours d’Elegance will celebrate its silver Anniversary with some of the biggest names and brands in the automotive industry.

This year, the Concours will commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Clenet Coachworks with over 20 original models, and the 100th Anniversary of the Indy 500 by presenting a special "Indy 500" class. The Concours will also mark the 125th Anniversary of the automotive giant, Mercedes Benz, as this year’s proud Marque Manufacturer.

The weekend will kick off Saturday morning with the 2nd Annual Mille Miglia Salute, a 100+ mile tour across the Central Coast. As a year-end salute to the Inaugural Mille Miglia North American Tribute, this event will take drivers on a tour of Santa Ynez, with stops at wineries for exclusive tastings. The Mille Miglia Salute is not a timed event and is open to any presenting vehicle on Saturday and/or Sunday's field programs.

Saturday's field program will feature the Worldwide Classics Car Show, with our first "green" car exhibit. Our VIP Cocktail Soiree will take place at the historic Santa Barbara Carriage Museum Saturday evening. There will be catered cuisine, an open bar, entertainment, dancing, and a silent auction, where proceeds from artwork sold will benefit the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County. The program on Sunday will feature the traditional Concours d'Elegance where over 20 Classes will be presented awards, including the coveted "Best in Show."

The 2nd Annual Vino d'Elegance Festival, with tastings from over 25 California wineries and presentations by a world renowned wine expert, local artisan cuisine, merchandise, and artwork, VIP hospitality, and live music will accompany both auto events. This year's event will benefit the United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County.
